Winter Flood on the Canal

By Şelale Gültekin

The painting depicts a moody, winter‑time urban scene of a flooded canal lined with bare trees and black lampposts glowing orange. A red brick bridge arches over the water, leading to colorful brick buildings with snow‑capped roofs on the right. In the distance, two small figures in orange walk along the flooded quay, adding a sense of scale and melancholy to the atmospheric, post‑impressionist landscape signed “09.”
